Our May Bible Study classes are the last ones until September. We have been studying Jesus’ life and mission on earth and now we will look at how the Church was formed after Jesus’ ascension.

Lesson 10 recounts the celebration of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit’s dramatic
entrance empowers the disciples to speak in tongues (foreign languages). Peter and John demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit when they heal a lame man in lesson 11.

Lesson 12 spotlights the Holy Spirit, who transports Philip [by telling him to go and
speak to the man in the chariot] to the chariot of the Ethiopian eunuch where Philip explains the Scriptures. The quarter concludes with Ananias, who was directed by the Lord to minister to his enemy, the newly converted Saul, [Paul] in lesson 13.— Earl S.
